Being positive definitely increases happiness. That doesn't make it easy for people to always be positive though. I think some are naturally positive people, while others are naturally negative (and some in between). Developing a positive attitude is something you can work on though.

I think that your readers would be interested to know that many studies have shown a strong connection between good posture and measures of the respect accorded to a person, as well as their own self-confidence and sense of personal power, and this is a benefit frequently reported by Alexander Technique pupils, who are taught to improve their posture.
I have posted a summary of the academic research on this on my website here (it is short and easy to read!): http://peter-bloch.co.uk/more-research

I agree completely that a confident mindset and positive outlook are the most important factors for success. From being a college athlete to a successful business owner, I can honestly say these qualities have been a significant force behind my successes both personally and professionally.

Health has been defined by some philosophers and some psychologists (including some of the most notable, such as Carl Rogers) as the ability to have a deep connection with ourselves as human beings - with full access to our own true thoughts and feelings - and a sense of profound connection with other people and things.
A positive attitude to ourselves and others helps us to grow in these qualities throughout our lives. And as we grow in these qualities, so our attitude becomes more positive.

I'm all about being positive and confident, but don't be cocky! Everyone hates cockiness as some point. Don't be a baby either. I guess my suggestion is to be positive and confident and believe in yourself, but stay level headed.

I can totally agree on how being positive can attract people. People who are confident have this magnetic aura since they are comfortable and pleasing to be with. The more I felt good about myself and confident of my skills, the more people I attract. I never missed a day, not telling myself how amazing and great I am. Thank you for the reminder and I hope you can visit me at derivatives as well.

Researching on happiness, I found out too that positive practices play a huge part. For example, just a one-day seminar can create a 30% happiness raise.

Being positive is definitively something to apply in our lives, since I do it on purpose I see more happiness in mine...
